| Herman Wedemeyer was a man who left an extraordinary legacy
in the realm of athletics, acting, business, and politics. At St. Marys
College of California, the legacy of "Squirmin Herman" Wedemeyer continues
to flourish. In addition to the permanent exhibit recently dedicated at McKeon
Pavilion, future generations of St. Marys students will benefit from
the establishment of the Herman Wedemeyer Endowed Athletic Scholarship Fund.
St. Marys is establishing an endowed scholarship fund to assist worthy Gaels who require financial assistance to attend St. Marys. Future Herman Wedemeyers can be helped by this scholarship forever. An endowed scholarship fund means that a large amount of principle is raised so that the interest can generate scholarship funds forever. The current cost of a full grant-in-aid for a student is about $25,000. Thus, St. Marys needs to raise $500,000 to fully endow the fund. Those of you who visit and enjoy this web site know well how much pleasure Herman Wedemeyer brought to us in his lifetime. If you would like to give something back to Herman, and help Gael student-athletes get their start in life, consider a donation to the Herman Wedemeyer Endowed Athletic Scholarship Fund. Donations may be cash, appreciated stock, estate designations, and property. To mail contributions, use this address:
